The Bega Valley

Bega Valley
The Bega Valley is a volunteering project for the Koalas. The Bega Valley also have projects on other animals and sometimes plants.
The South Coast Koala Recovery Program
The Program has the following aims :
- To work in partnership with the Aboriginal community on recovery actions, particularly in and near to national parks that are being returned to Aboriginal ownership.
- To assist the conservation and restoration of important koala habitat.
- To work with local governments to ensure planning processes conserve koala habitat.
- To continue to improve understanding about koalas through surveys monitoring and research.
- To reduce impacts of and predation.
- To increase community understanding of, and involvement in, the care of koalas and their habitat.

As you can see, the volunteers are planting in more trees so that Koalas won't die out because of their habitat. Unfortunately The Bega Valley mostly concentrates on the restoration of the habitat and not many other aspects. There are many other ways The Bega Valley can help to raise more awareness for the Koalas. Especially the Koalas fur.
